Does anyone else sense that some members of the ruling party seem to really enjoy sticking two fingers up at the Roman Catholic Church? I wonder if they would be quite so willing to take it on if it were not such an unpopular institution often considered old fashioned and antithetical to the rights of women. I find it hard to believe that MPs would be putting their neck on the line for this cause if the variables were slightly altered. For example would they be quite so blaze were they telling an Islamic Adoption Centre that they must assign Muslim babies to homosexual or even Jewish parents? I fear they might not and were such an issue to be pushed then they may find themselves endangered and we would have similar scenes to those we had with the cartoons. Am I being excessively cynical or do our leaders have more backbone than I give them credit for?
