  1. Nor did I, but by the looks of it, we won’t have much competition for a while yet. They don’t actually seem to have events as such, just ‘campaigns’, typical.

  2. Errrrrr I don’t think they are even union affilated… they certainly had no presence at the freshers fair… oh apart from a couple of SEESS Torys dressed in yellow handing out condoms….

  3. They are like the UCL Labour Society - run now from Facebook.

  4. I was at the ‘So You Want To Set Up A New Society?’ briefing at the Union last Wednesday. Sitting next to me was the Lib Dems’ so-called ‘Chair’, who seemed very concerned about any potential appeals process in the event of their little coven not being affiliated. Typical whingers. Another society being proposed included the Comics Society, but I figure that the sandaled ones would provide enough entertainment as it is.

  5. I think we should show them whos the best. Lets challenge them to a dance off!

  6. a number of ‘moderniser’ tories (ie, ones who realise that being a right-wing tosser won’t win elections) wrote in a pamphlet in 2005 that the Conservative vote is ‘increasingly white, ill-educated and poor’. In other words, the more the party appealed to its core constituency, the more it drove away well-educated more ‘liberal-minded’ individuals. How does everyone feel about being in a pary whose core constituency is poor, insular racists? And who here supports what the Tories actually did when they in power last (in fact, who here actually remembers the dark, dog days of the Major era?). As a reminder: Clause 28, the emasculation of local government, railway privatisation, mass unemployment, boom and bust economic policies, the squandering of north sea oil wealth, the massive increase in homelessness, regressive taxation, arms-to-iraq, more sex scandals than a molliere play, a doubling of crime, underfunded schools and hospitals, the virtual extinction of social housebuilding, cash-for-peerages (yes, it happened under your lot, too), 15% interest rates and the poll tax. Oh, to be a tory! you poor fools.
