Dunchurch & Knightlow Ward 1
Since becoming the candidate for Dunchurch and Knightlow ward in Warwickshire I have attended quite a number of meetings and functions. One of them, the Dunchurch Electoral Division Panel meeting, was a meeting of the Borough, County and Parish Councillors from around 2 Council wards.
On the face of it such a meeting had the capacity to be quite dull, however with updates from the Inspector of Rugby Police, Citizens Advice Bureau and a short (and hugely informative) seminar on Council Tax from Cllr Mark Pawsey this meeting proved to be enjoyable. With refreshments and a chance for a chat with several attendees I was made to feel welcome and sure in the knowledge that when I get elected in May it will not only be a tremendous privilege, but also a chance to learn about the intricacies of local Government and meet a huge array of interesting people with a passion for the community we share.
I’ll end in a partisan fashion by noting the absence of my Liberal Democrat opponent - but as I am running a positive campaign I shall add she probably had a very valid excuse!

Like the positivity Stuart - ‘when I am elected’. A trifle presumptuous in my option.

I am trying to be positive Iain. The choice facing Dunchurch and Knightlow at this election is stark: pick someone who has lived in the ward all his life, who represents a party that is inovative and fresh or pick a Liberal Democrat.
