Dunchurch & Knightlow Ward 2

The past few days of election activity seem to have hardly registered on the radar of the general public, but for me it has been a very busy time. On Wednesday the deadline for nominations passed, I discovered that I have 3 oppononents: Labour; Lib Dem; and a surprise Green party candidate. http://www.rugby.gov.uk/downloads/DUN&KNIGHTLOW.pdf
I have also taken delivery of my election ‘In Touch’. Two weeks ago I put out a hastily arranged newsletter in order to get my name into the public domain and while our President derided it I have no doubt it was a success. In the coming weeks I will be canvassing the whole ward (about 3,000 residences) and then organising a huge GOTV raid for May 3rd.
To top this all off I attended a Parish Council meeting on Tuesday where the man organising the Lib Dem campaign in Dunchurch and Knightlow told me I would win. A nice thing to hear but I am counting none of my chickens as we are a month ahead of their hatching (gestaton period of a chicken egg is 21 days so actually the eggs haven’t even been laid yet!).
As a final thought I give a reminder to everyone about my large campaign day on the 21st April. It will be a whole day of campaigning with free food, drink and an informal pub chat with Jeremy Wright MP in the afternoon. If you can make it get in touch with me via facebook or e-mail. On that day I want the whole ward to know that the Conservative Party is young, energetic and diverse. It should be an excellent day where the canvassers will hopefully encounter a good reception!

Good Luck Stuart! Sounds like your campaign has everything going for it and I hope that you win!
Can you, either via an email or facebook, send out information about travelling to and from Rugby. I would love to come and help you out but have no clue about how to get there etc
Good luck Stuart!

Unless I have looked at the wrong documents, this ward appears to be very much a safe seat with the previous Conservative candidate 300 votes ahead of the next contender? Why did the previous councillor chose to stand down?

The previous councillor - Mark Pawsey has been selected as the PPC for Rugby.
