Dunchurch & Knightlow Ward 3
Negative campaigning is not good for anybody. It doesn’t help the party that campaigns negatively; it doesn’t help the target; it doesn’t help the body politic. This weekend I was subjected to a leaflet drop by the Liberal Democrats that was personal, nasty and totally unnecessary. On the doorstep people were not impressed. My campaign has been unremmitingly positive and has only mentioned my policies - I hope the electorate recognise this.
The weather has been glorious. With good weather brings good moods and I hope my presence on the doorsteps this weekend didn’t dampen the high spirits in my locality! With my big campaign day fast approaching it was also an opportunity to once again show the public that the Conservatives are young and diverse. The 4 of us out this weekend had an average age of 20 and it was 2 males and 2 females! We spent the Grand National in the pub and as soon as Silver Birch stormed home we left to continue spreading the good word!
I look forward to welcoming the team to Warwickshire next week hopeful that the weather continues to make campaigning such an enjoyable event!

No wonder why the council chamber is such an intimidating place!
Interesting that he feels so threatened to devote a small essay just to you.
I think voters will also feel very patronised by it and that too should hopefully work in you favour.

That has got to be one of the weakest arguments against anyone in an election I have ever seen. Pitt The Younger was Prime Minister by the age of 25 - I believe that that position was slightly more intimidating than the council hall. If age is their only criticism then they clearly regard you as an exceptionally strong threat.
I’m sure a little campaigning on Saturday will show the Lib Dems up for the phoneys they are.

Oh my Gosh! Wow! You must have really threatened this guy! It seems to me that he has seen you as a huge threat and feels the only way he can now win back some of his support is to tell people how old you are.
Age does not always equal experience and effectiveness! Sometimes those who are younger possess qualities that age and life experience can not provide you with!
If I had received this leaflet then I would be completely put off voting for the Lib Dems in this area. I would rather have someone who is young and potentially inexpereinced in power than someone who feels the need to open abuse others, and worse still post his negative and vicious opinions to every house in the area!
Good luck Stuart! Keep doing what you have been doing, clearly it’s working! You’ve got him running scared!

Thanks guys - I must admit I rather enjoyed reading his diatribe. Oscar Wilde hit the nail on the head when he said “The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about”.
If I’m scaring him imagine what his heart will do when he sees 8 of us out there next Saturday!

Do we get a chance to meet him on Saturday? Please say it’s a Yes, I would love to meet this guy face to face! I promise I’ll be nice, Well I’ll try not to make him cry anyway. And if he does then I’ll be curtious and give him a tissue! Show him that we in the Tories have manners, something they are clearly lacking in his party!

We will have a field day. Experience does not necessarily come with age, and we can say that discouraging young people in politics is crass.
