Appearing on 18 Doughty Street…

After spending three years postulating and, to be honest, ranting over tea and crosswords in the Union, the brave souls over at 18 Doughty Street let me loose on Vox Politics last Friday night.

I do watch the show occasionally so I knew the general format. Each guest is emailed the list of topics on the day of the show so you have some time to prepare. I suffered less from nerves than I was expecting, which was probably the result of rational deduction: I could only make myself look stupid!

However, the paranoia of sounding like a complete, frothing -mouthed right wing loon had slowly been building up each time I spoke. By the end of the show, I was more nervous about watching it than going on! Isn’t it lucky we UCL Tories are such a reasonable bunch!

It is good experience, particularly if you’re keen on a career where you need to think on your feet. An hour long show flies by and is actually enjoyable. Better than watching the rugby anyway!
