Steve Norris @ UCL
Tuesday saw former mayoral candidate Steve Norris make a very welcome return to UCL Conservatives. Norris made a very detailed and entertaining speech outlining a few of the problems specific to London and really hammered home how diverse a city it is which we live in and are lucky to be a part of. Norris gave some London based facts like the average life expectancy in the East End of London is 4 years less than that of the other boroughs of London, and then outlined how much of a chance he believes Boris has in this Mayoral Election on May 1st.
After his enthralling speech Norris allowed us to ask him questions and even joined in when the rest of the Society sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to ex-President Richard Jackson who celebrated his 22nd birthday on Tuesday.
This was an excellent way to kick off the new term and the new year, it was wonderful to listen to hear Norris talk so passionately about London and it was a really shame that he did not become Mayor in the last Mayoral Elections. On behalf of UCL Conservatives I’d like to thank him for coming and hope that we will be able to have him return again in the future.

The ‘new’ Haldane room looks horrific in this picture! We look like we are all sitting in a hospital waiting room!
