Petition the Prime Minister to resign!

I have no idea how this was allowed to pass on to the number-10 website, but as it’s there, you might as well sign it!!

  1. It was not easy to get this petition approved, and the one that was allowed was my third try.

  2. What a success. 38 000 signitures so far.

Yet again Labour are not sticking to their promises. When they started the petition website they promised to provide a governmental response to all petitions with over 200 signatures, have they replied to this one – no!

Whilst I understand the motives behind such a petition, I do find it unfortunate that it makes a personal attack on Gordon Brown and that it does not ask for an opportunity to utilise our democratic right of a General Election. Perhaps we should petition for a snap GE?

Either way, it appears we only have one more year of Labour, and I think that’s a satisfying state of affairs.

  3. I agree with many of the above comments.

However, note that the impact of the petition is largely because it is at the top of the Number 10 site. So, I had to restrict to topics that would have enough support to reach the top, in a reasonable time. Some “better” topics would not do this.

Also, many suggestions I have been sent for better petitions do in fact already exist on the Number 10 site, but were not even noticed by the people who support them.

  4. The petition is now, in less than 3 weeks, in 14th place in the all time records for Number 10 petitions.

We need to exceed 60763 to get to 13th place. At the time of posting, the petition had been signed by 55,196.

  5. Hi, nice posts there :-) thank’s for the interesting information

  6. what’s the point of the petition apart from a cheap headline? oooohhh, i forgot, the new tory party is all about cheap headlines. my bad. carry on, chaps and chapesses!
