2012-13 Preview

With fresher’s week starting on Monday, it’s almost time for the Society’s many events to start up again. With at least one event every week we will continue to be at the forefront of student Conservatism and one of the most active societies at UCL.

Do make sure to visit us at our Welcome Fair stall on Thursday and Friday in the Quad next week to sign up to the society, receive some excellent freebies and meet some of the committee. Then, the very next week, we’ll be kicking off the year with our welcome event, consisting of a drinks reception and a ‘port and policy’ debate. This promises to be a great way to get to know each other, and to get involved in the debates surrounding British politics and the Conservatives. After this, we will head to a local bar for a few post-event drinks, where they have offered to extend their happy hour until close for members of the society. Quickly following that will be our famous Westminster Pub Crawl. A real highlight of the freshers’ calender, do join us as we make our way down to Westminster, which looks beautiful at night, and perhaps sing a few songs at the end as well!

More details about these events will be out soon as well as for our high-profile guest speaker receptions, fantastic socials and a tour of parliament planned for the weeks after. To get the latest information, do make sure to sign up to our mailing list at http://groupspaces.com/UCLUConservatives/

The UCL Conservative Society is one of the most active political student societies in the country and this year promises to be no different! So, whether you’re a first year or a Society veteran, at UCL or from elsewhere, do come along to our fantastic events. We look forward to welcoming you!
