Poppy Appeal

Following on from the huge success of our Poppy Appeal last year, UCLU Conservative Society will once again be fundraising in the Main Quad, selling poppies to support the Royal British Legion.

The Royal British Legion is the national Custodian for Remembrance and one of the UK’s leading military charities. They spend £1.7 million each week supporting current and ex serving personnel and their families in terms of welfare, comradeship, representation and Remembrance. The poppy is a powerful symbol which is worn to commemorate the sacrifices of our Armed Forces and to show support to those still serving today and their loved ones. More information can be found on their website here: http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/

We hope that you will be able to come along and support the appeal at some point between Sunday 9th November and Tuesday 11th November in UCL Main Quad. We’re also looking for people to volunteer with us selling poppies. If you want to get involved as a volunteer, even if you just have a spare hour or so, please email hannahgalley@yahoo.co.uk as your support would be greatly appreciated for this wonderful cause.

Hope to see you all there!
